Here are answers and information to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Has my product ever been frozen?

NO! unlike most other larger smokehouses we never freeze or cut corners. Every Argyll Smokery product is hand produced fresh to order, quality is guaranteed.

Is there a minimum order?

No you can order exactly what you want, small or large!

What are the delivery charges?

It’s Free delivery UK mainland for each individual address (order value £70.00+). £15.00 delivery charge UK mainland for each individual address (order value less than £70.00). Delivery to non-UK mainland locations (e.g. Scottish Islands, Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly) often incur additional charges. Please contact us directly to enquire.

Can I receive a delivery anywhere?

To any UK mainland address. Deliveries to non-UK mainland locations may incur additional charges please contact direct to inquire. We regret we do not send goods beyond the UK.

What delivery address information is required?

We cannot accept responsibility for incorrect addresses being provided, please ensure you provide contact name, full postal address, postcode and contact telephone number.

Can I select a specific delivery day?

Yes you can. We can delivery on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Please select a day that you / or the recipient will be in to receive your parcel. Please remember whilst the internet is open 24/7 all year, as a business there are certain times when we cannot dispatch, these are often during UK Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing day etc. We hope you will appreciate we need a day off occasionally too!

How is it packed?

Each order is carefully packed by hand into insulated secure boxes with plenty of cold refrigerant ice packs added. On arrival your order should be keep refrigerated or stored somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight on arrival.

Who will deliver my order?

We use a reliable next day courier service to delivery. Deliveries can be made at any time during the working day, usually between 9-5pm.

Can my order be left in a safe place if I go out?

It’s always best to be in to receive your delivery as you will need to sign for it. If you request for your parcel to be left in a safe place at your address (e.g. garden shed, with neighbour etc.) clear instructions must be stated on your order.

What do I do if my order hasn’t arrived?

Your order will be delivered on your specified day, usually between 9am and 5.30pm, unfortunately we cannot stipulate a precise time but usually parcels get delivered by 3pm. If you order has not arrived by 16.00 on the requested day and you are concerned please call us on 01369 705 286 and will contact the courier.

Can I order and send as a gift to someone?

Yes of course. We can deliver to friends, family and work colleagues. You can also request a gift message to be sent when placing your order. Please remember to leave clear delivery instructions should your recipient(s) be out, better still to warn them they will be receiving a surprise!

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes we do. These can be ordered and paid for online, whereupon the voucher will be mailed out to the recipient.

I have a specific dietary requirement, which products are suitable for me?

Ingredient and allergen information is listed on each product.

Can I collect an order direct form Argyll Smokery?

Yes you can, please contact us in advance to let us know what you need and when you would like to collect it.

The unexpected

We always strive to do the very best we can to make sure our customers are happy but sometimes things can go wrong that are beyond our control and may cause delay or cancellation as a result of road closures, traffic accidents, storms, heavy snow and very bad weather, fire, flood, war, dispute or an act of god.

Complaints, Returns procedure

Due to the very fresh nature of our products we do not offer a returns policy. In the very unlikely event you are unhappy with your goods or your product arrives in poor condition on arrival we ask that you contact us immediately and take a photograph of any damaged product and email it to us. We will do our up most to resolve any complaint as swiftly as possible.
